NOUVEAU PROJET - NEW PROJECT

Ce nouveau projet consiste en la construction, par Gilles Küpfer, d’un MJ 80 (Focke-Wulf FW 190 D9) à l’échelle 1/1, avec moteur Allison V-12, type 111, de 1'400 CV.
Après 4 années dans le 'Pays de l’Aviation (la Nouvelle-Zélande), je suis passé à la vitesse supérieure avec l’acquisition de ce nouveau hangar (voir 'Photos' - Hangar en rénovation). Ce hangar sera le premier musée ‘vivant’ de Wanaka consacré à la construction de la réplique d’un chasseur de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Ce projet a débuté en août 2012 avec l’acquisition d’un jeu complet de train d’atterrissage, ainsi que de pièces neuves (ailerons, flaps, etc.) fabriquées par Flug Werk GmbH < http://www.flugwerk.de/html/news.php?ID=5 >. Un merci tout particulier à Claus Colling, Directeur, qui a eu la gentillesse de prendre mon projet à coeur, faisant de nombreuses modifications sur les pièces originales afin qu'on puisse les adapter sur la cellule en bois de mon avion. Ce matériel me permettra d’économiser une année et demie de travail !
Ce projet, basé sur les plans de Marcel Jurca (qui m'avait toujours encouragé à faire cette réplique à l'échelle 1/1), constitue une première mondiale en raison de sa cellule type D9 complètement en bois.
Le souci du détail sera identique à celui de ma réplique à l’échelle 80%.
Je remercie du fond du cœur la NZCAA qui a accueilli ce projet avec enthousiasme.
Par le biais de ce projet, je rendrai un hommage tout particulier à la JG26 de la Luftwaffe (surnommée « Les Boys d’Abbeville - The Abbeville Boys » par les pilotes anglais), qui était considérée comme une élite par ses adversaires d’outre-Manche.
Toute personne possédant des pièces originales du FW 190 D9 (instruments ou autres), ainsi que des documents originaux de la JG26, est la bienvenue et peut prendre contact avec moi via le présent site internet. Merci !

After 4 years spent in the Country of Aviation (New Zealand), I moved up a gear with the acquisition of this new hangar (see 'Photos' - Hangar in renovation process). This hangar will be the first ‘living’ museum in Wanaka dedicated to the construction of the replica of a WW2 fighter. This project began in August 2012 with the acquisition of a complete landing gear set + some new parts (ailerons, flaps, etc.) manufactured by Flug Werk GmbH < http://www.flugwerk.de/html/news.php?ID=5 >. Special thanks to Claus Colling, Director, who had the kindness to take my project to heart, making many modifications on the original parts so that they could be adapted on the wooden cell of my aircraft. That material will enable me to spare one year and a half of work!
This project, based on Marcel Jurca’s original blueprints (Marcel had always encouraged me to build this 1/1 scale replica), represents a world premiere because of its all wood D9 type cell.
The attention to detail will be the same as for ma 80%-scale replica.
I thank the NZCAA from the bottom of my heart, because they welcomed this project with enthusiasm.
Through this project, I will pay special homage to the Luftwaffe’s JG26 (nicknamed “The Abbeville Boys” by the English pilots), which was regarded as an elite by its adversaries across the Channel.
